YouTube to run ads on demonetized videos for extra money

A email sent to all YouTubers and viewers has everyone concerned about the future of the platform.

In the early days of YouTube the platform had it where once you signed up then you could immediately monetize your videos however this sparked backlash from media outlets who claimed that racists or illegal videos had ads being played on there channels so those channels were making money for posting illegal videos so YouTube updated there partner program to have 4,000 watch hours and 1,000 subscribers to be eligible for your channel to be monetized however your channel would also have to be reviewed by a real human to confirm your channel is good enough for monetization these new rules also made where if your content had "swears, graphic imagery or was political miss information" then your video would be demonetized meaning that the creator can't make any money off that video this caused many YouTubers to quit and thus there audience leaving YouTube as well

in 2019 YouTube introduced the Coppa rule where if your channel was made for kids, had kids or featured things mainly kids liked then that video would not get promoted on YouTube no notifications would go out for the video as well you could copy and paste the exact same title of a kids video put it in YouTube search and it wouldn’t come up. meaning those kids channels could only rely on the subscription box if people didn't click then that video doesn't get a view no views no ad revenue no ad revenue no money so this also caused kids channels to quit.

However recently people received a email saying that if your video is demonetized or if your channel is not monetized then YouTube will put ads on your videos to which the revenue made from that would go to YouTube

Overall it looks like YouTube being YouTube and changing there TOS for there own benefits you may think whats the big deal that seems okay will many creators enjoyed swearing in there content some political miss information is often not miss information and factual you can also get demonetized for curtain words like Covid, virus, pedo, and other words that aren't swears but mean something bad
